Thief Training for Applicants consists of getting to know your Mentor and select members of the Caste. Applicants have an initiation period determined by their Mentor, during this time the Applicants skills will be assessed and their suitableness for caste will be determined by both Mentor and Applicant. Inner council members will have veto power over both Mentors and Applicants.

Once an Applicant is deemed worthy of moving to Apprentice training, the applicant must decide if this is truly the right move for them. Once named as an Apprentice to the caste, there are only two options, succeed or die, at this stage you cannot decide it's too difficult and quit, if you quit, you will be hunted down and killed. If you fail your training and your Mentor, Ubar and or Inner Council feel that you are not worthy of casting, you will be killed.

Once accepted as Applicants, it is required that the Applicant will reside within the Thieves Vault Dormitory, this is necessary for Applicants and Apprentices both. Spending the night outside the dormitory is punishable by the Mentor, Ubar or Inner Council, punishments vary by situation and by who's applying it. Applicant training MUST include running the Gauntlet to assess natural skills and abilities as a first step.
Apprentice training can vary by gender, by skill set, and by Mentor, and Mentors may not be assigned by gender. Apprentice training will consist of, but is not limited to: Pickpocketing by use of the training room dummies, Lockpicking with chains of various style locks, Climbing, Distance Jumping, Disguises, and Observation by way of Blindfold Training and Market watching WITH the Mentor. NO Apprentice will attempt to steal ANYTHING without a Mentor present and with Mentor approval. Certain additional training will be assessed and applied to Apprentices as decided by their skill set and natural talent.

Once the Mentor has taken the Apprentice to a final designated location. At this point, they will remove the Apprentices Blindfold and the Apprentice must then guide the Mentor back through the same path to the Den, in reverse.
