1.  The Head of the Caste's word is law in the caste. All NPC thieves will obey him, unless RP has been made to make it otherwise. No RP of the like can be a spontaneous or day event it must be played out.

2.  Never plot against the caste. All caste business, secrets and matters are to be kept strictly within the caste. Anyone who leaks caste information will be dealt with harshly.

  3.  Must wear the "thief’s scar" - a tiny 1/4" three pronged brand burned into the flesh. Women do not have to wear the brand on the face, the shoulder blade works as well. It is better for the women to be able to hide their mark better in case of a face stripping. \|/

4.  Never kill one of the brethren or injure them in a way that prevents their skills from being used to the fullest. Now we all know that not all the thieves will get along. It was common for thieves to be very competitive, seeking to raise their standing in the caste. So some plotting will be made against each other. This is encouraged for good role play, but do not take it personally, OOC.

5.  No harassing or flaming OOC. Also maintain minimal OOC in rooms if there must be any at all.  If you have a complaint OOC about how you are being treated IC, do not let it come off of your fingers or out of your mouth. We don't care what's going on, if you enter the play IC and don't have the common god given good sense to work your way out of it, and decide it's better to bitch about it there is the door you are free to walk out of it. When you join this storyline you are fully warned that your character could die, be tortured, whatever. That is the nature of our story. You harass anyone to the point they would rather block you, you are gone. Either IC killed, or OOC shelved. It's a zero tolerance system from now on.

6.  Thieves do not live by a code of honor like or a sense of justice like warriors. However thieves do have a strong sense of pride. If a thief gives his word in something, then it is truth. If a thief lies when giving his word, all his credibility in the caste would be stripped as well any standing he held within it.

7.  All non-caste thieves will be brought immediately into custody of the Caste Enforcer to be presented to the Ubar. If the Ubar is not available, he or she will be brought before the highest ranking member in pecking order to have punishment decided.

8.  She-Urt gangs, while not within the caste, are considered almost a subdivision of the caste and thus are an exception to the previous rule. They are kept a close eye on and permitted to operate as long as they are under relative controL.

9.  While dice play is almost necessary on Gor in one amount or another; if at all possible try to use dice as little as possible, good RP will almost always trump dice play, BUT, publicly, dice are required for the public acceptance of your roleplay.

10.  Anyone wishing to join the caste must contact a registered thief, petition the Ubar, or present themselves at the Thieves Vault to begin training. All thieves must have the Ubars approval for branding a new thief into the Caste.

11.   You can’t just come into the den and say, “Oh I just robbed such and such warehouse.” Any large heist, I.E. robbing Pc shops, houses, ships, or warehouses must be RPed and witnessed. No Self RP or moding a situation. It is highly urged to find partners or petition for partners for jobs and then to complete them. A thief can swiftly become a Master thief this way, and a Master thief can quickly drop on the pecking order as well. Activeness is huge and will determine the amount of respect and favor one has in the caste as a whole.

12. Either you are a thief or you aren’t. There will be no member of the thieves caste who is also loyal to another Caste. A secondary caste may be used as a cover, but any and all loyalty must be to the Thieves, if this is in doubt the Character in question may be eliminated by the Caste Enforcer.

13.  At anytime the Ubar of Thieves can revoke an applicant's membership in the Caste without explanation.

14.   You must  be a sworn citizen of Port Kar in order to be in the Thieves Caste of Port Kar. If you swear to another homestone that is not Port Kar, you will be expelled from the caste and will no longer be a recongized member.
